I had never particularly felt the connection to Tiger's Eye before I traveled to Colombia. In a country filled with beautiful emeralds, there was no doubt in my mind I would be bringing one home.. but the universe had other plans for me.
A few days after I arrived, I was walking around the street of Cartagena's old city one night with my friend. We were looking for a place to have dinner when all of a sudden a man selling rings in a box approached us and showed us his silver rings, all of which had a different stone. I admired the gems and looked for one that sparked my intrigue. I tried on quite a few rings with stones I previously admired: turquoise, moonstone, opal… but none of them fit. I apologized to the man for not being able to support him and walked away with my friend to sit on a bench…
We sat and chatted for awhile and later the man returned… He asked me again to look at his rings. I tried to politely tell him no but he persisted… This time I saw a ring I hadn’t noticed before…. I was powerfully drawn to a silver ring with a triangular Tigers Eye stone and it fit perfectly… I bought it and wore it everyday for the rest of my time in Colombia…
Fast forward a couple of weeks… I was now in Medellin. I was out one night with a few friends I had met at the hostel… We danced at one bar for a while and decided at around 1 am to go to another club… however nothing was open that night… so we decided to walk around the streets and see what we could find. We stopped for a minute and a bag fell out of one of my friend's pockets.. It was a bag of Tigers Eye stones! I admired his stones and before I knew it he was sitting on the ground wire wrapping some jewelry. The rest of us were very confused as to why he was doing this at 2 am on a random sidewalk in the previous most dangerous city in the world. But, before I could think about it too much, he stands up and hands me a silver spoon wrapped with the tigers eye bead and says I made this for you.. I was in awe.. both excited and grateful for his gift, feeling a great sense of blessing.
One week after that… I was now in Salento, Colombia shopping with a couple girlfriends. We walked into one store and my friend Michelle, who knows me very well knows how much I love the moon.. she handed me a bracelet she thought I would like.. sure enough I loved it.. It was a wrap bracelet.. it had the moon on one side and to my surprise (but not really because the universe works in mysterious ways) on the other was a Tigers Eye stone.. I bought the bracelet and appreciated her for bringing it to my attention.
By this time, after the universe seemingly putting Tigers Eye in front of me 3 times now in a month, all in different places by different people in very diverse circumstances... I began to question what universal energy was at work... I felt very connected to the stone knowing it was brought into my life for a reason.
Now here's the magical part!
Tigers eye is a stone of protection, it may bring good luck, but assists in mental clarity, helping to uncloud emotions and stay grounded. It is good for anxiety and fear, and helps with willpower, courage, and self confidence.
It was exactly what I needed!
Prior to my arrival in Colombia, I had been traveling for about 2 month in Peru. Almost the entire time I was there, I was on my Neptune line (the line of dreams, spirituality, and intuition). Now if any of you know anything about Neptune, it's not an easy line to be on for an extended period of time without feeling a little mind fog. It's a challenge to stay grounded and you can almost feel as if you're living in a dream. Colombia was going to be no escape from this energy however as my Neptune line runs through the whole Western side of South America.
But luckily Tiger's Eye manifested it's way into my life!
I felt the benefits of this magical stone seemingly drop into my lap. With my Neptune line making my mind cloudy, the tigers eye really helped in keeping me grounded. I always choose to believe that everything happens for a reason and has a greater purpose. The stone was incredibly healing and transformative for me. My time spent in Colombia was nothing short of pure magic, and I have the powerful stone to thank for its assistance in my healing journey.
So next time you travel, if you're heading to your Neptune line, make sure you have a Tiger's Eye stone packed in your bag!
